Not buying into the age-old scriptures,
Religion's not a predetermined fixture.
Won't wrap myself in ancient text,
Or pledge allegiance to what comes next.
No way, Yahweh, I'll find my own way,
Into the mystery, the light of day.
Unbinding the doctrine, breaking the chains,
Creating my journey, it's my own to claim.
I won't prostrate, won't bend my knee,
To a deity, demanding fealty.
I won't don a spiritual disguise,
I see the world through open eyes.
No way, Yahweh, not in my play,
I'll navigate life in my own array.
Chasing the horizon, embracing the unknown,
Carving out a path that is solely my own.
So here's to the thinkers, the doubters, the seers,
To those who find strength in their hopes and fears.
To the iconoclasts, the rebels, the free,
Who choose their own path, just like me.
No way, Yahweh, not on this day,
I'm setting my sails, I'm casting away.
Into the open, where winds of thought blow,
I'm a voyager on life's grand tableau.
So here's my bumper sticker, clear and concise,
In life's great tapestry, we roll our own dice.
No way, Yahweh, I'll find my own way,
In this vast universe, we all have our say.
